I was born and raised in the vibrant city of Mumbai, India. Two years after my marriage, I moved to the USA and now call Maryland my home, where I live with my family and my beloved plants. My journey has led me to serve as a Director with The Poetry Academy, a role that deeply resonates with my passions. Delighted to share that my poetry graces the pages of numerous international journals, anthologies, museums, poetry festivals, textbooks, buses, and libraries, resonating with readers across the globe.
My academic background is diverse, with a focus on Human Resources at XLRI and Psychology at Annamalai University. In a previous chapter of my life, I spent five years in the corporate world before making the profound decision to follow my heart’s calling.
Today, I proudly embrace the role of a mother to two wonderful boys, and I dedicate my free moments to writing and practicing Heartfulness Meditation.
I find joy in kitchen gardening and culinary experimentation. While I once had a passion for photographing the wonders of nature, my lens now captures cherished moments with my children. The presence of an oven in most American homes has reignited my love for baking. I’m grateful to be able to stay at home with my kids while still pursuing meaningful work—whether it's writing or analyzing handwriting.
My debut book, Refugees in Their Own Country (B&W Fountain), tells the story of the Partition of India through verse and illustration. My second book, Please Go to the Park (Bottlecap Press), invites readers on a journey of self-discovery. Art inspired by these poems is available on Poetrywallart.
Inspired by time spent with my younger son, we created a children’s book and song called Washy Washy—a true labor of love born from the desire to share something meaningful.
I gravitate toward simplicity and minimalism, and I think this website is a good reflection of who I am. Thank you for taking the time to visit—I look forward to connecting with you soon.
